Early-career researchers as principal investigators
The departments of economics in Bonn and Mannheim offer junior professorships (W1 positions) with the possibility of awarding tenure; both have established guidelines that specify the procedures and criteria for the promotion to a tenured position. The junior leave program of the CRC offers our junior professors the possibility of spending six or twelve months at the other node of the CRC and being exempted from teaching during that time.
